Management’s Discussion and Analysis (M,D&A)

Management’s Discussion and Analysis (M,D&A)

Okay you like the idea of stealing other people’s investment ideas. But you don’t really want to get into the nitty and gritty of analyzing any of the companies’ financials yourself. There is a short cut that offers maximum utility (getting a lot while putting in very little). You could always just read Management’s Discussion and Analysis of the company in their annual report. You can find the annual report of companies on www.sedar.com

There you will find disclosures regarding recent developments, trends, products, competition, and financial position of the company you’re interested in. There are legal filing requirements that management must adhere too as well, so they’re much more apt to be honest and deliberate in their discussion of the companies’ prospects than they are in the media.

And of course this is a great example of…drum roll please…Wager Value. You will be focusing on information that most other people are not taking advantage of. So let the rest of the world read their newspapers and magazines. Let them watch their television and be spoon fed advice that everybody has access too. And let them troll the internet for bullboards and blogs…oh oh, did I say blogs? Anyway, you get the idea. All this makes so much sense I might even do it myself...Wager Value...Be there!
